He had many people following Him, but one thing we know about God is this: He is not moved by numbers. Multitudes don't impress Him, Jesus cares more about quality not quantity. I don't know about y'all but I'd rather count 4 quarters than 100 pennies! Amen! We learn this from David, when The Lord punished him for counting the size of his army, and we learn this from Gideon, when He reduced his army to only 300! God wants to be glorified; and all it took for Him was 3.5 years and 12 men to turn the world upside down.
Ask yourselves today, are you a fan or a follower?
What's the difference? A fan roots for you as long as you're winning; they'll buy your jersey and everything else but if you decide to leave town.. They'll burn your jersey, call you all kinds of names and they will grow to hate you! But a fan roots for you as long as everything is well, but don't stick around when the going gets tough.
A follower on the other hand is the complete opposite. They will be with you all the way until the end..
The Son of God became a Son of Man so that the sons of man may become sons of God! But when the Son of Man returns, He is coming back for His Bride, the Church. Let's remember that Judgment starts where? At home. When He returns, will He find people of faith; or will He come back to people who spoke "Christianese" very well yet they didn't Him at all?
This is a challenge to all; especially myself. I want to be found by Him, not having any righteousness of my own. I want to know Him and for Him to know me; this ought to be the desire of every Christian and if this isn't yours, God has graced you with another day to get it right, with His help.
